Hi there! I'm Vincent, and I'm currently a Computer Science student at the University of Waterloo.
Growing up in Fredericton, New Brunswick, I still vividly remember myself stuck in this weird lemma being a jack of all trades, but master of none type of situation. I was never the best at any sport, nor was I the most accomplished in academics, like alot of the kids I grew up with. I grew up having some really close friends that I'd go biking or play music with, and that was a good chunk of my childhood.
Though, I didn't really know what I wanted to do with my life. I worked hard at school, and got some pretty good grades that led to me getting into Waterloo. But other than that, I wasn't special at anything.
I picked up Java through my Grade 12 Computer Science class, just because one of my friends was in it, that was my first ever exposure to programming. I realized, it started to grow on me; gradually, slowly, but surely, and firmly reinforcing my long-lost love and drive for problem solving. As time went on, I just kept getting better and better, while still having fun and enjoying the learning process.
That's how I ended up here at Waterloo, still putting myself out there everyday in order to grow past my comfort zone, picking up new challenges and improving as I go on. Now, I build and design things that wow people, and I love what I do.
